Microsoft Philippines and the Visayan Forum Foundation Inc. supports LACMMI
Related Stories:

Several known corporations operating in the Province of Batangas pledged their help in supporting the requirements of LACMMI in their cause to reach out to our beloved Batangueños living overseas.

Recent developments in the negotiations with TESDA brought favorable response and support.  Thru the help of Dir. Elmer K. Talavera, a Batangueño himself, coordination with outgoing TESDA Batangas Director Gabby Bordado facilitated alternative venues for courses offered by Microsoft Philippines and the Visayan Forum Foundation.

LACMMI looks forward to a joint solution package to accommodate the scholars in the TESDA facilities either in Batangas City or Lipa City.

The Visayan Forum Foundation Inc., in their quest to alleviate the rising national crisis of people trafficking and illegal recruitment, in partnership with Microsoft Philippines, donated a couple of computers and a computer literacy course to 25 Batangueño qualified scholars on a monthly basis.  The free course will be held in strategic venues located in the province of Batangas.

Ms. June Inabayan, LACMMI’s Overall Coordinator, in her relentless efforts pursuant to her task of coordinating with over 200,000 OFW’s and Migrants and their families reaching to over 900,000 within the province of Batangas, accepted the said grant during a business meeting held in June 2006 at the Microsoft Philippines Office in Manila.  With Ms. Inabayan were CBCP’s Rev. Fr. Edwin Coros and LACMMI’s Leadership Training Coordinator volunteer, Mr. Meynard Melo.

This further extends LACMMI’s hands in reaching out to itinerants in different locations worldwide as it builds its database of members via its network of coordinators in those locations and local vicariates in Batangas.  With CBCP-ECMI’s plan to do the same for all provinces nationwide, LACMMI’s precedence will serve as a model as the pilot project begins for the rest of the country.
